SEGGER Microcontroller is a full-range supplier of hardware
and software development tools as well as middleware for
embedded systems – in brief: The Embedded Experts.
The company offers support throughout the whole development
process with affordable, high quality, flexible and
easy-to-use tools and components: Starting with its own IDE
SEGGER Embedded Studio, debugging with the
industry-leading
J-Link, tying in Microcontroller peripherals via its
Middleware, and finally implementing the software on the
target through its own
programmer.
SEGGER relies on closed-loop development: Its products have to
prove their worth in daily use by the developers. That’s why
it simply works.
Software products include:
embOS (RTOS),
emWin (GUI),
emFile (File System),
emUSB-Device (USB device stack),
emUSB-Host (USB host stack) and
embOS/IP (TCP/IP stack). With
emSSL and
emSecure, a unique software to generate and verify digital
signatures, SEGGER is offering solutions for secure
communication as well as data and product security, meeting
the needs of the rapidly evolving IoT. |

SEGGER announces Secure Shell solution emSSH
SEGGER announces emSSH a software library for creating secure
connections between a client and a server, typically over a
TCP/IP connection.
As with all SEGGER software emSSH and the underlying crypto
engine are designed from the ground up for embedded systems.
The crypto engine is flexible and can make use of hardware
acceleration, if available, giving developers the best choices
for optimizing performance and throughput.
emSSH is both hardware independent and transport independent,
and integrates seamlessly with embOS/IP and third party stacks
using the standard socket interface.
Although SSH is usually associated with secure connections to
a server using TCP/IP, an SSH session can secure any
bidirectional channel, for instance a serial line or wireless
link.

SEGGER’s Advanced Debug Technology Made Available for
Zilog’s ZNEO32! Family
SEGGER has introduced J-Link support for Zilog’s ZNEO32!
Cortex-M3 based family of microcontroller units (MCUs). This
includes support for debug, as well as Flash-based
programming. Production line programming is also available via
the SEGGER Flasher family.
Projects using the ZNEO32! MCUs can now take advantage of the
proven reliability and industry-leading performance offered by
SEGGER’s highly popular J-Link debug technology - resulting in
considerably faster and more efficient developments cycles.
J-Link is supported by all major IDEs - including IAR EWARM,
Keil MDK, Rowley Crossworks, SEGGER’s own Embedded Studio and
other Eclipse/GDB-based offerings. This gives Zilog developers
flexibility in their choice of IDE without compromising on the
superior download speed to RAM and Flash that J-Link
technology provides. |

New SEGGER SystemView Enables Easier RX
Microcontroller-Based Application Design with Comfortable Data
Visualization
SEGGER’s new SystemView gives complete insight into the
behaviour of a program, with minimal side effects on the
observed embedded system. SystemView offers cycle accurate
tracing of interrupts and task start stop as well as task
activation and API calls when an RTOS is used. It visualizes
and analyzes CPU load by task and interrupts and scheduler.
Test setups with LED and oscilloscope are a thing of the past.
Using SEGGER's J-Link debug probe with SystemView gives the
ultimate advantage of streaming data transfer: Unlimited
recording capacity and analysis in real-time, working as a
live software oscilloscope. This is a great means to gain a
deep understanding of the runtime behavior of an application.
Real-time analysis is particularly beneficial when developing
and working in complex systems with multiple threads and
events, and also in bare-metal systems without any RTOS. |
